Networking Tips For Maximizing Opportunities In A Room

Here’s a quick guide to maximizing and capitalizing on a room of opportunity.

Presentation is key,

  1. Dress to impress. The way you show up matters. Unfortunately (also fortunately), people will judge your success based on the way you carry yourself & overall, the way you dress as well.

  2. Attend prepared & with confidence: show up with your head lifted high (humbly) & come prepared! Have an opportunity? Know it through and through. Have a challenge that you’re hoping to solve? Know the exact details and share it with the community, you’ll find the answer and solution. Do not attend being unsure, unprepared and not confident that you have something to offer. This is a mindset shift more than anything.

  3. Understand with your mind, that you’re there with a purpose & that you’re there with something that somebody needs (regardless of whether or not you feel valuable).

Create an exchange of value,

  1. Always offer value first, ask, “How can I offer value to you?” This question should only be posed, if you’re truly willing to maintain your word and truly serve & assist. If that is the case, than this showcases your willingness to serve without “strings” & allows for connection while making an immediate impression and memory.

  2. As a means of enhancing rapport, ask the following question, “what’s your story?” This question truly opens people up and allows you to sense how open they are to sharing, some will keep it short and brief and you’ll need to continue diving into getting to know that person and some will open right up and you’ll find an instant connection forms and the rest is history.

  3. Do not come to networking events without a purpose, always know the one thing you’re looking leave with. We touched on this above, but show up, serve, and do not leave without achieving your purpose or “value” add item, be that a solution, an opportunity, or assistance.

Best of luck networking and we hope this blogs helps you achieve results, meaningful connections and an abundance of opportunities.
