Adapt, It’s the Only Way to Survive

Charles Darwin, the famous scientist who is known for his contributions to the theory of evolution, said this "It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent. It is the one that is most adaptable to change." Though we may not all believe in the theory of evolution, we can all agree that this quote still resonates with us. Even though being the strongest and the most intelligent do help in survival, it's the one who is able to adapt to change who actually survives in the long run. We have to apply these same principles, especially during a global pandemic for ourselves and our community.

Adapting was an absolute necessity for NREIC (The National Real Estate Investors Community) to get the point we're currently at. It actually wasn’t even actually called NREIC. It was called The Winnipeg Investors Club (WIC). Let me tell you a story.

WIC was born in February of 2019. It was founded because our president Dakotah Charron could not find a space that a) was not a sales/marketing funnel towards something like a course, program or coaching, 2) he wanted to fast track his networking and success 3) he wanted to be surrounded by some of Winnipeg's highest performing investors. Due to the fact that most Winnipeg's highest performing investors felt the same way, you could not find them at these events either. Thus, Dakotah had a vision to create THE most valuable hub for all things real estate investing in the city and he believed in achieving that by bringing together qualified, active members only with zero sales allowed and a super valuable community as we connected everyone with capital, deals, partnerships, etc. We began by hosting events in members' homes at first, then we started to rent out board rooms, and due to our continuous growth, we began to take things to a higher level. That led us to hosting events at the luxurious venues such as The Manitoba Club, The Fort Garry Hotel, so on and so forth. Unfortunately, we were shut down in April due to the Pandemic. We had two choices, either take it for what it was and give up, or pivot and adapt to the circumstances. We chose to adapt. We came up with new strategic plans and re-launched amidst the pandemic. We continued to throw our monthly events while adhering to Public Health Regulations (mandatory mask, social distancing, staggered entry times, designated groups and more), rebranded from WIC to the brand we know today, NREIC, and have doubled in size in the last 4 months while growing at a rate that we had to bring in a team to help systematize and implement all our processes. Because we have continuously adapted, we’ve been able to constantly grow our community by focusing on providing the most value to them online and/or in person. Though we have found our stride for the moment, make no mistake that we are always adapting and pivoting to make sure we continue to do that for our community.

There is no growth without adversity. Adapt to your situations and make the necessary changes within your business to continue to grow and scale your business. Adapting is the only way to survive in the long run. We’re excited as we have committed to this vision for the long run and we will continue to grow it nation wide over the years to come - thus, join us, build with us and let’s all continue to adapt and succeed, together.

Also, stay tuned,

We are launching giveaways, competitions, online events, weekly hangouts to chat and get together. We may come from different backgrounds, but we all are wanting the same thing and that is to continue to grow, to adapt, and have a sense of belonging.

A community is simply that.
